New Chapter

Monday, August 19, 2013

This is my new blog.  I am going to embark on a 10 week body transformation challenge and I am taking you with me.  There is a good reason for this.  See, when I was training for the Glass City Marathon it became easier to stay on track with my training schedule because I was accountable to you.  Those days that I didn't want to go out and put in 10, 17, 20 miles (or whatever it may have been that day) I did it anyway because you were reading.  I finished that goal, maybe not as strongly as I would have hoped, but I finished it none the less.  I owe a lot of that to you for reading and cheering me on.  All that positive energy really made a big difference for me.

As committed as I am to fitness and good health, I have been really off track lately.  Don't get me wrong, I still work out and have new goals that include 2 half marathons in October with a time goal.  I have definitely been committed to those trainings.  I have included speed and hill work in this training schedule to dial things up a notch.  But now I have some new goals...

I want to transform my body into the body of an athlete.  Lean out, build muscle and look more defined.  Now don't get me wrong, I am not a body builder and I don't want to compete as one.  I just want to look and feel the healthiest I can.  I have joined the  Level 10 Body Transformation Challenge through Herbalife.  I will be using Herbalife products, eating clean and working out for the next 10 weeks.  I will be blogging about the experience and sharing the ups and downs of this new challenge with you.  I hope this will be a fun and challenging experience for me and I hope you will enjoy the journey with me.

Let's lay it out a little bit.  I LOVE food.  No, I really, really, really, REALLY LOVE food.  Tasty, yummy, creamy, salty, sweet, chocolaty food...mmmm......mmmmm......mmmm,  Okay, focus.  Now I am choosing to give up the processed. chemical laden, hydrogenated food like factory substances that have plagued me for the better part of my life.  I am going to make more meals at home, use more whole foods, eliminate bad carbs, eat the right kinds of fats and learn how to fuel my body properly to support my goals.  I have no real idea where to begin but I am not afraid to try.

I will be posting pictures along the way and sharing recipes, work outs, supplements, trials and errors.  I hope you will support me through this journey.
